NPR will add AMERICAN PUBLIC MEDIA's daily MARKETPLACE MORNING REPORT feature to its MORNING EDITION this FALL. The segment, aired as an independently distributed feature for 25 years and already carried by several public radio stations that also carry MORNING EDITION, will be incorporated into the NPR morning show on a daily basis under a new agreement between NPR and APM.
NPR SVP/News MARGARET LOW SMITH said, "The agreement represents a new era of collaboration in public radio. There are no other media institutions that offer audiences what we can. MARKETPLACE MORNING REPORT offers a natural complement to MORNING EDITION’s in-depth national and international coverage.”
MARKETPLACE VP/Executive Producer DEBORAH CLARK added, “This is a positive reflection of our industry’s future. This is a good development for everybody, especially the audience.”
