WGO: Now It's Country

PROGRAMMERS BROADCASTING Hot AC KWGO/MINOT, ND flipped to Country on MONDAY (6/23), positioning itself as “NEW COUNTRY 102.9.”

Current staffers JEFF BLISS  and OWEN BANKS (mornings), SHELLY KINCAID (middays) and JD CONNORS (nights) remain with the station, as Co-owner JAY DAVIS is serving  as acting PD.

The station issued a statement via its FACEBOOK page regarding the flip, saying, “After much thought and careful consideration, we decided it was time to do what was best for our community and provide MINOT residents with what they had been asking for – a Local FM Country station, with local content and local announcers. Country is the most popular music format in the U.S. We hope you will give the new music a chance. You may find that New Country isn’t your Grandma’s Country!”
