THURSDAY vocalist GEOFF RICKLY has decided to make his label, COLLECT RECORDS, a full-time endeavor. RICKLY started co-releasing records by TOUCHÉ AMORE, MIDNIGHT MASSES and UNITED NATIONS in 2009. The label's first official year will feature the sophomore album from post-rock experimentalists BLACK CLOUDS, a debut single and full-length album from VANISHING LIFE (featuring members of QUICKSAND and ...AND YOU WILL KNOW US BY THE TRAIL OF DEAD), a co-release with TERRIBLE RECORDS from hardcore rockers SICK FEELING, and more yet to be announced.
On MONDAY, JUNE 30th, from 7-10p (ET), DJ DAN CARTER will make an internationally-coordinated announcement and global radio premiere regarding COLLECT's first official signing and release as part of the BBC RADIO 1 Rock Show. In the meantime, COLLECT will open its social media portals to the public (on TWITTER, FACEBOOK, TUMBLR and INSTAGRAM, among others), with a full website to coincide with next week's announcement.
"The chance to empower other musicians to follow their dreams has been totally revitalizing for me," RICKLY said. "Most of the people here at COLLECT have played in bands, toured, and worked tirelessly because they love music past any reasonable point. So if the mission of COLLECT is to give great records a supportive home, then we all know what that means. And it means a lot to us."
