A reminder that a memorial service for music industry vet and GOSPEL MUSIC HALL OF FAME member DON LIGHT is set for WEDNESDAY, JULY 9th at 6:30p (CT) pm in the FORD THEATER at the COUNTRY MUSIC HALL OF FAME in NASHVILLE, TN.
Scheduled to participate at the memorial are the OAK RIDGE BOYS, BILL GAITHER, VINCE GILL, THE GOODMAN REVIVAL, MARTY STUART, NASHVILLE's "THE TENNESSEAN” writer PETER COOPER and host RAY STEVENS.
LIGHT passed away WEDNESDAY, JUNE 18th. He was 77.
After a career as a disc jockey and drummer on THE GRAND OLE OPRY, LIGHT eventually co-founded the GOSPEL MUSIC ASSOCIATION in 1965. He also operated DON LIGHT TALENT, the first professional outfit for booking gospel music and managed many artists beyond Gospel, including JIMMY BUFFETT, the OAK RIDGE BOYS, STEVE WARINER, the late KEITH WHITLEY, MARTY STUART, MARK COLLIE and DELBERT MCCLINTON.
