WSTW's Joe Alan Delivers His Baby Daughter

DELMARVA Top 40 WSTW/WILMINGTON, DE afternoon jock JOE ALAN was rushing his wife to a birthing center SUNDAY evening (7/6), but baby BAYLEIGH couldn't wait, so JOE, who's delivered some very nice ratings for WSTW, delivered his own daughter on the side of ROUTE ONE, in the back seat of his new MAZDA 3. 

JOE and his wife MELISSA were approximately 20 minutes from the birthing center when MELISSA announced that the baby was coming.  JOE said, "So we pulled over and I helped her get into the back seat, and sure enough, the baby was coming, the baby was there.  So we called 911 and got them on the phone in the car, and they tried to walk us through it, and we did it all on the side of the road, just the two of us."

JOE added, "I'm thinking about hanging on to the MAZDA until she's 16, so she can drive that old car around and tell everyone she was born in it."

BAYLEIGH KATE weighed in at 7 pounds 4 ounces. Mom, Dad and big brother GRAYSON are all doing fine.
