EDMONTON OILERS hockey will remain on CORUS News-Talk CHED-A/EDMONTON under a multi-year contract extension that will run for six years through 2020. JACK MICHAELS and BOB STAUFFER will continue calling the action, with STAUFFER also continuing the daily noon-2p (MT) "OILERS NOW" talk show.
The other CORUS EDMONTON stations -- Country CISN, Hot AC CKNG (92.5 FRESH FM), and News CHQT-A (iNEWS 880) -- will also be involved in supporting the partnership.
OILERS Pres./COO PATRICK LAFORGE said, “CORUS ENTERTAINMENT is a fantastic radio partner in bringing OILERS hockey to fans across Oil Country. 630 CHED has been the home to so many legendary OILERS moments over the years and we look forward to delivering many, many more new ones over the course of the partnership. We know we have top-notch programming and a great broadcast team in JACK and BOB on ... It just feels right to have OILERS hockey on 630 CHED."
CORUS RADIO ALBERTA GM GARRY MCKENZIE added, “630 CHED has been proud to provide its listeners with EDMONTON OILERS games and coverage for 18 years and we are excited to continue our radio partnership with the OILERS into 2020. With BOB, JACK and (studio host) REID (WILKINS) at the broadcast helm, CHED listeners will continue to have access to OILERS games, excellent play-by-play coverage and insightful colour commentary.”
