INDIANAPOLIS radio stations are uniting to support and host "INDY UNITED on the Circle," a rally in support of public safety and law enforcement and a call for unity against violence, in the wake of a police officer killed and an outbreak of gun violence in the city. The public is invited to attend the free event on SATURDAY, JULY 12th at the MONUMENT CIRCLE in INDIANAPOLIS at 9a; it will feature Mayor GREG BALLARD, U.S. Rep. ANDRE CARSON, public safety officials, community leaders and clergy.
Radio stations participating are members of the RADIO BROADCASTERS OF INDIANAPOLIS, which are EMMIS, ENTERCOM, CLEAR CHANNEL, CUMULUS, RADIO ONE, WTTS (SARKES TARZIAN) and WEDJ (CONTINENTAL BROADCAST GROUP). This group owns 19 radio stations in INDIANAPOLIS.
“This event shows the power of radio in a local community to reflect listener emotions and lead community dialog," Emmis/Indianapolis SVP CHARLIE MORGAN said. "In my 30+ years in INDIANAPOLIS radio, I have never seen more immediate and universal support for an event than we have seen for INDY UNITED.”
