MARK ZANDER is out as PD for DIGITY Classic Rock WERV (95.9 THE RIVER) and Rock WRXQ (Q ROCK 100.7)/CHICAGO, IL. DIGITY CHICAGO GM BRIAN FOSTER made the announcement TODAY, and no official reason is being given for ZANDER's release. ZANDER, who also did afternoons for WERV, has been with the company since OCTOBER 2010.
WERV morning co-host and APD DANIELLE TUFANO and WRXQ morning host and APD MARK "ELWOOD" MAILLER will both serve as Interim PDs of their respective stations until a replacement for ZANDER is named.
Just this past weekend, ZANDER's long-running, nationally syndicated radio shows "The Rockin''80s" and "The Rockin' '70s" ended their syndication run. "What started out as just an idea I had for my late night show on WCKG in 1997 became my calling card," ZANDER said. "It was truly a dream achieved to have 'The Rockin' '80s' heard all across NORTH AMERICA for over 10 years."
ZANDER is now looking for his next opportunity and can be reached at (630) 303-4597 or 4cstudiosinc@gmail.com.
