Insisting that he did nothing wrong, ANTHONY CUMIA appeared on FOX NEWS CHANNEL's "RED EYE" late FRIDAY (7/14) and said that he "will never apologize" for his Twitter postings that got him fired from the OPIE AND ANTHONY show at SIRIUSXM.
CUMIA, who has made several appearances on "RED EYE" in the past, told host GREG GUTFELD that "for 10 years I had spoken like that (on the air) ... stringing together lines of obscenities in nonsensical fashion" and the remarks were "exactly who I am. I’m not even going to deny it. I go off on tears like this. I curse, I say horrific things about people that piss me off, and that’s exactly what I did." He added that any apology would be "bogus" (GUTFELD noted "I have to admire you -- you didn't pull an ANTHONY WEINER," referring to the ex-Congressman's apology after his sexting scandal; CUMIA said that even his brother suggested that he claim that "someone got your phone or something").
When "RED EYE"'s ANDY LEVY challenged CUMIA's assertion that the comments, which were posted after the radio host was allegedly punched by a woman who objected to her photo being taken, were not racist, CUMIA said that the comments calling her "savage" and other pejoratives were meant to describe "people that instantly go to violence" and not African-Americans. GUTFELD said that "even by your standards, (the Twitter remarks) were pretty bad."
