Former KXXY/Oklahoma City Morning Co-Host Dan Stroud Dies

Condolences to family and friends of former Country KXXY (96.1 KXY)/OKLAHOMA CITY morning co-host DAN STROUD, who passed away on THURSDAY (7/10) at 59, according to a post on the station's Facebook page.

The post reads, "Sad news to pass on to our KXY family --DAN STROUD passed away today at MERCY HOSPITAL.  I don't have all the details as of yet but please keep his wife KARLA & their family in your thoughts & prayers. DAN, of course was here when we transitioned from 96X to Country back in 1982 -- he & DAVE were THE morning team for almost 25 yrs in OKC but he was more than that. He was a husband & father who was loved, a friend who was trusted and a colleague who was admired. He will be missed but his legacy will always live on in the hearts of those lives he touched!"

STROUD was one of several hosts fired in CLEAR CHANNEL's 2012 round of layoffs; he had been at the station for 31 years.  He co-hosted "DAVE AND DAN" with DAVE MURRAY for many years, and more recently was part of the "BILL, PATTI, AND DAN" show with the late PATTI GARRETT and BILL REED.
