Albany Broadcasting's Bob Ausfeld Dies From Complications After Heart Transplant Surgery

Condolences to family and friends of GM at ALBANY BROADCASTING/ALBANY, NY GM and longtime ALBANY-SCHENECTADY-TROY radio manager BOB AUSFELD, who died SUNDAY night fromcomplications while recovering from heart transplant surgery in BOSTON, according to ALBANY BUSINESS REVIEW.
AUSFELD received a heart transplant on JULY 6th after being on a waiting list for over two years. He had battled heart problems for several years and had been using a heart pump.
Known by his friends and employees as "THE BOBFATHER," AUSFELD was known to care deeply for his employees. Longtime employee CHANTEL SQUIRES told the ALBANY BUSINESS JOURNAL, "BOB always said, 'If you take care of your people, they will take care of you.' That was why he had so many loyal employees who worked hard FOR him. He always took care of his staff- and truly cared about them. The loss felt is immense. He has left a legacy and touched so many people."
A 40-year broadcast veteran, AUSFELD is survived by his wife MARION, his sons COREY and BRIAN, his daughter MORGAN and four grandchildren.
