JOHN GAMBLING did regular shows with former NEW YORK CITY Mayors RUDY GIULIANI and MICHAEL BLOOMBERG for 15 years, but the host, now at SALEM News-Talk WNYM-A (AM 970 THE ANSWER)/NEW YORK, can't ger current Mayor BILL DE BLASIO to do the same.
The NEW YORK DAILY NEWS reports that GAMBLING, noting that DE BLASIO appeared on COMEDY CENTRAL's "THE COLBERT REPORT" on WEDNESDAY night, complained on Twitter, "Hey @BilldeBlasio when are you coming on our show? If you can talk to @StephenAtHome why not a local NYC audience?" GAMBLING told the DAILY NEWS that he believes that DE BLASIO won't come on the air with him because GAMBLING is conservative, adding, "I’ve been sitting with mayors for 15 years ... I’m always willing to let somebody speak their mind. I’d like to have a conversation with the mayor.”
GAMBLING hosted weekly chats with the Mayors at WOR-A and WABC-A and says he is not asking for a weekly show with DE BLASIO, but "eight months into the mayoralty, I would have hoped that one 10-minute phone call would have been available.”
