WWKB To Air University Of Buffalo Sports

New Deal

UNIVERSITY OF BUFFALO football and men's and women's basketball is moving from CUMULUS Sports WHLD-A (1270 THE FAN)/NIAGARA FALLS to ENTERCOM Sports WWKB-A (ESPN 1520 AM)/BUFFALO under a new deal that begins in AUGUST.  Games will also air on CLEAR CHANNEL Sports WHTK-A/ROCHESTER with select games on SALEM Religion WMCA-A/NEW YORK and TOWNSQUARE Sports WTMM (104.5 THE TEAM)/ALBANY.

UB Director of Athletics DANNY WHITE said "We are thrilled to be partnering with ESPN 1520. To have UB Athletics broadcasted over the airwaves of one of the most powerful stations on the EAST COAST will further help us enhance our brand and reach a very large fan base across the state of NEW YORK as well as our extensive alumni base on the Eastern seaboard."

ENTERCOM BUFFALO VP/GM GREG RIED added, "We found out with a lot of research that BUFFALO has an insatiable appetite for sports and that is why we launched ESPN 1520 last SEPTEMBER.  One of the purposes of that station were to provide a better outlet for local collegiate sports in Western NEW YORK and to get out the message of what is going on. Everyone is taking notice that things are happening here at UB and we are excited to be a part of it and excited to put the ESPN brand in the same line as the UB brand."
