ARBITRON plans to recruit an additional 400 participants for the LAS VEGAS quarterly surveys, beginning with the FALL '06 Book (SEPTEMBER 21-DECEMBER 13). The sample size for the VEGAS market will increase by 20% percent from 1,980 persons to 2,380 12+ persons.
BEASLEY BROADCAST GROUP, ENTRAVISION COMMUNICATIONS, KEMP BROADCASTING, LOTUS BROADCASTING, RIVIERA BROADCAST GROUP, and UNIVISION have signed agreements to share costs with ARBITRON to increase the sample size.
The fast-growing LAS VEGAS radio metro has a 12+ population of approximately 1,438,600, each participant in the expanded FALL '06 ARBITRON survey is intended to represent approximately 600 radio listeners.
ARBITRON SVP/Sales CAROL HANLEY said, "LAS VEGAS is among the fastest growing radio markets in the country. We salute the forward-thinking LAS VEGAS broadcasters who have agreed to share part of the costs that ARBITRON will incur as we increase the number of survey participants in our Las Vegas radio ratings. These broadcasters have made an important investment in the quality of the radio ratings service and in the accountability that these ratings provide their radio advertisers. We believe that the broadcasters who are backing the expansion of the sample will derive a good return on investment as they present this data to their advertising clients in the market."
