Broadcast Pioneers Of Philadelphia To Honor Pat Delsi And New Hall Of Fame Members

The BROADCAST PIONEERS OF PHILADELPHIA will honor longtime local radio broadcaster PAT DELSI as its 2014 Person of the Year and will induct several local broadcasters into its Hall of Fame at a banquet on NOVEMBER 21st at the HILTON PHILADELPHIA on City Avenue.
DELSI's career began in 1953; he is the former owner of WSSJ-A/CAMDEN after working there from 1954 through 1980, and also worked at other area stations, including KYW-A and its predecessor WRCV-A/PHILADELPHIA.
Hall of Fame inductees still living will include GREATER MEDIA Classic Rock WMGK/PHILADELPHIA morning man JOHN DEBELLA, CBS RADIO News-Talk WPHT-A/PHILADELPHIA host DOM GIORDANO, JERRY LEE AC WBEB (MORE FM)/PHILADELPHIA VP/GM BLAISE HOWARD, former KYW-A/PHILADELPHIA engineer RALPH (BUD) GALOW, and longtime KYW-A Executive Editor FRED WALTERS.
Non-radio living inductees will include former NBC TV sports director GEORGE FINKEL, NBC O&O WCAU-TV (NBC 10)/PHILADELPHIA meteorologist BILL HENLEY, ABC O&O WPVI-TV (6ABC)/PHILADELPHIA reporter DAVID HENRY, soap opera creator AGNES NIXON ("ONE LIFE TO LIVE," "ALL MY CHILDREN," "LOVING"), former WFIL-TV/WPVI-TV "ROMPER ROOM" and "DIALING FOR DOLLARS" host CONNIE ROUSSIN SPANN, CBS O&O KYW-TV (CBS 3) and CW affiliate WPSG-TV (THE CW PHILLY 57)/PHILADELPHIA VP/News Director SUSAN SCHILLER, and FOX O&O WTXF-TV (FOX 29)/PHILADELPHIA meteorologist SUE SERIO.
Posthumous radio inductees will include longtime WDAS-A-F/PHILADELPHIA VP of Programming/PD JOE "BUTTERBALL" TAMBURRO, KYW-A business reporter FRED SHERMAN, WIBG-A and WDAS-A/PHILADELPHIA and WCAM-A/CAMDEN host BOB MITCHELL, WFLN and WRTI/PHILADELPHIA host RALPH COLLIER. WCAU-A and WCAU-TV/PHILADELPHIA Chief Engineer JOHN LEITCH, and former WHYY INC. President WARREN KRAETZER. Non-radio posthumous inductees will include the legendary MARIAN ANDERSON, WKBS-TV and WPVI-TV "AL ALBERTS SHOWCASE" producer and co-host STELLA ALBERTS, WPHL-TV/PHILADELPHIA horror host JOE "DR. SHOCK" ZAWISLAK, WFIL-TV/WPVI-TV "ACTION NEWS" format creator RON TINDIGLIA, and former WFIL-TV/WPVI-TV engineer WALTER BEAULIEU.
