Facebook Q2 '14: Profits More Than Doubled, Revenue Up 61%

FACEBOOK INC. reported Q2 profits of $791 million, or 30 cents a share, compared with a profit of $333 million, or 13 cents a share, for the year-earlier period, MARKETWATCH reports. Revenue rose from $1.81 billion to $2.91 billion . Adjusted profit was 42 cents a share, which beat analysts' expectations of 32 cents a share, on revenue of $2.8 billion.
"We had a good second quarter," FACEBOOK Founder/CEO MARK ZUCKERBERG said. "Our community has continued to grow, and we see a lot of opportunity ahead as we connect the rest of the world."
The report also noted that FACEBOOK has 829 million daily active users and 1.32 billion monthly active users -- up 14% year-on-year. It also has 1.07 billion monthly active users on mobile.
