Condolences to family and friends of longtime CFRB-A/TORONTO sportscaster BILL STEPHENSON, who died TUESDAY night at 85.
STEPHENSON started his career at CJAV-A/PORT ALBERNI, BC in 1948, later joining CJOR-A/VANCOUVER, CKDA-A/VICTORIA, BC and CKWX-A/VANCOUVER, calling B.C. LIONS CFL football and VANCOUVER MOUNTIES minor league baseball. He joined CFRB as Sports Director in 1960, calling TORONTO ARGONAUTS football in 1960-72 and also working on CTV's CFL coverage in 1974-86. He was inducted into the Football Reporters wing of the CANADIAN FOOTBALL HALL OF FAME in 1988.
