UNIVERSITY OF HOUSTON football and men's basketball will air on CLEAR CHANNEL News-Talk KPRC-A/HOUSTON in 2014-15, the school announced WEDNESDAY (7/28). KEVIN ESCHENFELDER will return for his second season calling the COUGARS football games, with TED PARDEE back for his ninth season as analyst, JEREMY BRANHAM as sideline reporter, and MATT THOMAS handling the pregame show.
THOMAS will call COUGARS basketball for his second season, joined by COUGARS legend ELVIN HAYES. BRANHAM will co-host football coach TONY LEVINE's weekly show, and THOMAS will host basketball coach KELVIN SAMPSON's show. The COUGARS' men's basketball games aired on KPRC last season; football aired on sister Sports KBME-A (SPORTSTALK 790).
The school's VP/Intercollegiate Athletics MACK RHOADES said, "Both the UNIVERSITY OF HOUSTON and CLEAR CHANNEL MEDIA + ENTERTAINMENT had a goal of a consistent radio home for HOUSTON football and men's basketball. With KPRC 950 AM, we have a home HOUSTON fans know they can turn to when the COUGARS are in action without being affected by the schedules of any other organization."
CLEAR CHANNEL HOUSTON Dir./AM Programming BRYAN ERICKSON said, "We wanted HOUSTON fans to have a consistent station for every single game. We look forward to another exciting season of HOUSTON men's basketball on KPRC 950 AM, and we look forward to HOUSTON football joining the station's roster."
