Intrigued by NEW YORK CITY Mayor MICHAEL BLOOMBERG's pledge of $125 million of his own money to combat smoking, CLEAR CHANNEL Top 40 WHKF (99.3 KISS-FM)/HARRISBURG "Morning Mess" host JASON BARSKY is offering HARRISBURG mayor STEPHEN REED - an avid smoker and advocate for smoker's rights - $125 if he'll quit.
The politely worded plea thanks the mayor for doing a great job running the city, but adds, "If you were to get sick from smoking, and would have to step down as Mayor of HARRISBURG, I'm not sure what would happen to our city."
While the Mayor has yet to respond, listeners have responded in a major way, with one female listener offering to up the ante to $12,500 if he'll be her "quit smoking buddy."
