WJAS/Pittsburgh Sale Closes, Flip To Talk Pends

RENDA BROADCASTING has closed on the sale of Adult Standards WJAS-A/PITTSBURGH to FRANK IORIO's RADIO PARTNERS LLC, reports the PITTSBURGH TRIBUNE-REVIEW's PAT CLOONAN, and the new owners are expected to take the station to a Talk format.

RENDA VP/Operations ALAN C. SERENA told CLOONAN that IORIO "is expected to flip the format to talk" after moving the station out of RENDA's studios to its own facility.  And IORIO said that it might be "a little bit yet" before the flip.
