CLEAR CHANNEL News-Talk WPGB (FM NEWSTALK 104.7)/PITTSBURGH has flipped Country as "BIG 104.7, PITTSBURGH’S NEW HIT COUNTRY" launching with FLORIDA GEORGIA LINE's "This Is How We Roll," and promising a 10,000-song, "Commercial-Free Summer."
PREMIERE's syndicated morning program, "THE BOBBY BONES SHOW" will follow, debuting sometime in the FALL.
DAVID EDGAR, VP of Programming for CLEAR CHANNEL PITTSBURGH, said, “It’s a great day for PITTSBURGH Country music fans as we launch BIG 104.7, a fresh new take on Country music. This station will give our listeners a front-row seat to Country’s biggest artists and concerts. Listeners will also enjoy waking up with THE BOBBY BONES SHOW and his unique and entertaining insight on Country music. No one is closer to the heart of NASHVILLE than BOBBY BONES.”
"TODAY is moving day," promos airing on the station said to announce the move of the talk format to FRANK IORIO's RADIO PARTNERS, LLC newly-acquired crosstown WJAS-A, which began with a simulcast of PREMIERE's RUSH LIMBAUGH at Noon (ET) replacing the old Adult Standards format. Morning host DAVID "BLOOMDADDY" BLOOMQUIST (based at CLEAR CHANNEL News-Talk WWVA-A/WHEELING) and PREMIERE's LIMBAUGH, SEAN HANNITY, and GLENN BECK are among the shows moving to WJAS.
The move to Country follows another CLEAR CHANNEL BULL-Branded Country outlet, WBWL (101.7 FM THE BULL)/BOSTON, which flipped from Dance to Country in JUNE (NET NEWS 6/16).
