DIRECTV and DISH NETWORK have joined forces to go after political advertising money with a partnership called D2 MEDIA SALES. The move poses competition for radio and broadcast television in chasing the billions of dollars available in annual political ad spending.
The satellite television rivals will offer targeted spots on statewide levels using "addressable advertising" for localized buys for candidates and ballot measures, cross-references with viewers' political preferences.
D2 has arrangements with Republican/conservative political research firm i360 and Democratic/liberal firms CLARITY CAMPAIGN LABS and TARGETSMART COMMUNICATIONS to target voters.
