GARTH BROOKS will be honored at ASCAP's CENTENNIAL AWARDS. The once-in-a-century award is given in recognition of an artist's accomplishments in their music genre.
BROOKS will be one of five recipients at the presentation taking place MONDAY, NOVEMBER 17th at the WALDORF ASTORIA HOTEL in NEW YORK CITY. The presentation will be made during a gala celebrating ASCAP's 100th anniversary and will be hosted by ASCAP Pres./Chairman PAUL WILLIAMS.
The event will feature the five recipients -- BROOKS, JOAN BAEZ, BILLY JOEL, STEPHEN SONDHEIM and STEVIE WONDER -- along with guest artists performing in tribute to the honorees. The gala will also serve as a fundraiser benefiting the ASCAP FOUNDATION supporting music education, talent development, and humanitarian activities.
