NRG Buys 4 In Waterloo, Iowa From Woodward

NRG MEDIA LLC has purchased Classic Hits KOKZ, Active Rock KFMW (ROCK 108), News-Talk KXEL-A, and Sports KWLO-A (1330 ESPN)/WATERLOO, IA from WOODWARD COMMUNICATIONS for $3,550,000. The deal has not appeared yet in the FCC database.
NRG MEDIA CEO MARY QUASS said, “We are delighted to have the opportunity to add the stations in WATERLOO/CEDAR FALLS to our platform. We continue to look for great radio properties that are located in the MIDWEST and are an integral part of the communities they serve. NRG is pleased to be adding these strong stations to our company of great local radio stations.”

We will continue to operate, grow and enhance our award-winning, seven station radio group in the APPLETON/GREEN BAY, WISCONSIN markets which we've owned since the late 70s."
In deals filed with the FCC, GOSPEL BROADCASTING NETWORK is selling K268CL/GARLAND, TX to RADIO FORTALEZA INTERNACIONAL for $150,000. The seller's GOSPEL AMERICAN NETWORK is also selling K292GA/CLARKSVILLE, TX to the same buyer for $150,000. The stations will rebroadcast noncommercial Contemporary Christian KGPF/SULPHUR SPRINGS, TX.
BRIGHAM YOUNG UNIVERSITY-IDAHO is selling K236BS/JEROME COUNTY, ID to LOCALLY OWNED RADIO, LLC for $41,750.
MARSHALLTOWN EDUCATION PLUS, INC. has requested a Silent STA for KRFH/MARSHALLTOWN, IA due to lightning damage to its antenna and feed line.
CALVARY CHAPEL OF TWIN FALLS, INC. has filed for a Silent STA for KBJF/NEPHI, UT after power was cut to its site due to nonpayment of electrical bills.
QUICKSILVER BROADCASTING LLC has requested a Silent STA for W256AG/WAUSAU, WI due to financial difficulties.
MANCHESTER COMMUNICATIONS, INC. has closed on the sale of Rock WTBK (ROCK 105)/MANCHESTER, KY to CHOICE RADIO CORP. for $425,000.
SPIRIT BROADCASTING GROUP, INC. has closed on the sale of noncommercial WKMH-F/SALUDA, SC to RICHBURG EDUCATIONAL BROADCASTERS, INC. for $139,730.
HIGHLAND COMMUNITY BROADCASTING has closed on the sale of noncommercial Classical WCNH/BOW, NH to NEW HAMPSHIRE PUBLIC RADIO, INC. for $75,000.
And NEAL and ELIZABETH ARDMAN's RADIO STATESBORO has closed on the purchase of six stations in STATESBORO, GA from GEORGIA EAGLE BROADCASTING for $600,000. The stations include Adult Hits WMCD (HOTS 107.3)/CLAXTON, GA; AC WPMX (EAGLE 102.9), News-Talk WWNS-A (NEWSTALK 1240) and Sports WPTB-A (YAHOO SPORTS RADIO 850)/STATESBORO; Classic Rock WZBX (ROCK 106 FM)/ROCKY FORD, GA; and Country WHKN (BEST COUNTRY 94.9)/MILLEN, GA. EDDIE ESSERMAN of MEDIA SERVICES GROUP represented the seller in the deal.
