CORNERSTONE RESEARCH will debut XNotes, a new feature for its XTrends ratings analysis software. XNotes allows users to annotate their NIELSEN ratings data with events that impact the data. Ticket giveaways, promotions, weather events, anything that affects ratings can be noted with XNotes, and those XNotes appear while users review ratings data in XTrends.
“Currently all radio programmers keep track of these events by hand in a log or spreadsheet," CORNERSTONE RESEARCH VP/GM MARK SCHREIBER said. "Now they can see this information where it’s most helpful, inside their ratings, inside XTrends.”
There is also a social media aspect to XNotes. “It’s like we created our own FACEBOOK inside XTrends,” SCHREIBER said. “XNotes can be shared with colleagues, format captains, whoever. When a contact accepts your request, they’ll see your XNotes when they pull up their own data, and you’ll see theirs. That way everyone has a better understanding of what’s happening in each market and what triggered ratings spikes and dips.”
In addition to XTrends, CORNERSTONE RESEARCH also offers Analyst, radio’s premier delivery vehicle for music research data, and Hook Exchange, a hook service and software application that facilitates the selection of song hooks for music research.
