A city that counts as its residents JACK WHITE and KINGS OF LEON now has a second Alternative station to call its own. CLEAR CHANNEL MEDIA + ENTERTAINMENT/NASHVILLE announced the launch of ALT 98.3 on FM Translator W252CM/WNRQ-HD2.
ALT 98.3 will offer mainstream Alternative music programming featuring artists such as NASHVILLE-based JACK WHITE, THE BLACK KEYS and KINGS OF LEON, as well as COLDPLAY, PEARL JAM, GREEN DAY, IMAGINE DRAGONS and THE LUMINEERS.
The new station will be commercial-free through mid-SEPTEMBER, with a local on-air talent lineup to be announced soon. Additionally, ALT 98.3 will be the official FM home for VANDERBILT football, beginning AUGUST 28th, when the COMMODORES kick off the 2014 season against TEMPLE.
"The MUSIC CITY has been missing this very important genre of music, much of which is made right here," CCM+E/NASHVILLE OM MICHAEL BRYAN said. "We're excited to offer NASHVILLE a new home for everything alternative."
"We're thrilled that we can finally deliver a brand that will connect with the vibrant Alternative rock fans in NASHVILLE," CCM+E/NASHVILLE VP/Market Manager DAN ENDOM said. "Plus we are also happy to offer a new and exciting way for businesses to engage with and influence this active consumer base."
Fans can listen to ALT 98.3 on the station's website www.alt983.com, as well as on IHEARTRADIO.COM and the IHEARTRADIO mobile app.
