Sunset Strip Music Festival Announces More Acts For September 20-21

The seventh annual SUNSET STRIP MUSIC FESTIVAL (SSMF), the first under the auspices of NEDERLANDER, has announced the artists appearing on the MURS 316 Stage and additional performers playing the iconic WHISKY A GO-GO and THE ROXY as part of the two-day music festival on SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 20th and SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 21st.
The newly added MURS 316 Stage curated and hosted by MURS features headliners BUN B, RIFF RAFF, DIZZY WRIGHT, DJ QUIK and KILLER MIKE, among many others. The well-known MC held his first sold-out show at THE ROXY in 2003 and celebrates The Strip by creating the first ever dedicated hip-hop stage at SSMF.
THE ROXY and WHISKY A GO-GO will feature a variety of artists over the two-day festival from THE LAST INTERNATIONALE, BREAK SCENCE and FMLYBAND at THE ROXY to LA GUNS, UNWRITTEN LAW, ONYX and CATTLE DECAPITATION at WHISKY A GO-GO . SSMF ticketed attendees can watch the performances in the venues throughout the day and into the night and after the street fest closes until 2a. Entrance is first-come, first-served.
The venue shows are in addition to the street festival, which features outdoor stages and includes JANE'S ADDICTION, EMPIRE OF THE SUN, FAILURE, DESTRUCO, COLD WAR KIDS, KAISER CHIEFS, MAYER HAWTHORNE, ††† (CROSSES), IRATION, MINUS THE BGEAR, THE BIRDS OF SATAN, BIG DATA, NIGHTMARE AND THE CAT, WE CAME AS ROMANS, BEWARE OF DARKNESS, TOVE LO, BIG FREEDIA, NOSTALGHIA, FRENCH-SOLER and SAY SAY.
The festival kicks off on FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 19th at the HOUSE OF BLUES SUNSET STRIP with JANE'S ADDICTION being honored with the “ELMER VALENTINE AWARD,” which celebrates the music and icons that have made an impact on the legacy of The Strip.
SUNSET STRIP MUSIC FESTIVAL STREET FEST will take place on Sunset Blvd. between Doheny Drive and San Vicente Boulevard from 2-11p on SATURDAY and 2-10p on SUNDAY. Sunset Boulevard will be closed to vehicular traffic between Doheny Drive and San Vicente Boulevard from SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 20th at 3a until MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 22nd, at 6a.
