CBS RADIO Sports WIP-F/PHILADELPHIA will air its annual EAGLES Radiothon next TUESDAY through THURSDAY (9/4-5). The event auctions off prizes and experiences to benefit the EAGLES YOUTH PARTNERSHIP charity. Among this year's prizes are a round of golf at the fabled MERION GOLF CLUB with quarterback NICK FOLES, chances to meet with Head Coach CHIP KELLY and GM HOWIE ROSEMAN, bowling with receiver JEREMY MACLIN, golf with longtime EAGLES radio voice MERRILL REESE, and remotes at the winner's business with WIP's morning, midday, or afternoon shows. Last year's event raised over $183,000 for the foundation.
EAGLES YOUTH PARTNERSHIP Executive Director SARAH MARTINEZ-HELFMAN said, “The EAGLES Radiothon is the ultimate win-win for everyone. WIP listeners get to hear their favorite Eagles call in to the station, bidders can win experiences of a lifetime and, as a result, children in the Greater PHILADELPHIA region receive vision care, literacy programs and revitalized playgrounds from the money we raise. SPORTSRADIO 94WIP has been a generous host of the EAGLES Radiothon for many years and we thank them for their commitment to EAGLES YOUTH PARTNERSHIP and the 50,000 children we serve.”
CBS RADIO PHILADELPHIA SVP/Market Manager MARC RAYFIELD said, “All year long, SPORTSRADIO 94WIP takes pride in having some of the loudest mouths in sports media. The station has built its reputation on strong opinions, but during the WIP EAGLES Radiothon those same personalities show how big their hearts are. We've had a longstanding partnership with the PHILADELPHIA EAGLES and EAGLES YOUTH PARTNERSHIP. For a couple of days, our air staff relies on the equity and goodwill they have built with their audience to get them to bid on exciting once-in-a-lifetime opportunities. As a result, the partnership has raised over a million dollars for programs that help the less fortunate right here in the DELAWARE VALLEY.”
