RADIO.COM. debuted a behind-the-scenes video of the BARBARA STREISAND-BILLY JOEL collaboration on "NEW YORK State Of Mind" TODAY. It's from STREISAND's new COLUMBIA RECORDS ALBUM, "Partners," which comes out TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 16th. The video is available exclusively on CBS RADIO's online/mobile destination.
Fans can hear the artists talk about what it was like to record the song, their history with the song, and their admiration for each other as artists.
STREISAND originally recorded the song on her 1977 album, "Superman," about which JOEL says, "She really put me on the map as a songwriter. I was always very appreciative of that."
STREISAND says, "The fact that I recorded that song impressed the record company, I guess?"
JOEL previously recorded the song with TONY BENNETT in 2001, as well as performing it on-stage with BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN and ELTON JOHN on separate occasions.
STREISAND’s “Partners” features other music pairings with ANDREA BOCELLI, MICHAEL BUBLE, LIONEL RICHIE, ELVIS PRESLEY and JOHN LEGEND in addition to JOEL.
