Legendary LOS ANGELES DODGERS broadcaster VIN SCULLY tells the LOS ANGELES TIMES that he may cut back the number of games he calls next season by up to 25%.
SCULLY, who calls all DODGER home games and road games from ANAHEIM (LOS ANGELES ANGELS), PHOENIX (ARIZONA DIAMONDBACKS), SAN DIEGO (PADRES), and SAN FRANCISCO (GIANTS), said that he will skip road games at the latter three cities early in the 2015 season, traveling only to ANAHEIM, although he left open the possibility that he would call some games from the other cities later in the season assuming the DODGERS are contending for the division title. He also said that he will "absolutely" travel to call playoff games this season.
SCULLY said of next season, "I’m going to go to ANAHEIM for sure. But I’m going to try to cut back on nights on the road. I really want to spend more time at home." And on going to ARIZONA, SAN DIEGO, and the BAY AREA, he said, "I won’t just go to go. I would probably wait until the season unravels a little bit, rather than just go early in the year somewhere. They ought to be in another pennant race. It’s more fun."
SCULLY's play-by-play is heard for all nine innings on TIME WARNER CABLE SPORTSNET LA and on radio for the first three innings in a simulcast on a radio network headed by CLEAR CHANNEL Sports KLAC-A/LOS ANGELES. He does the first three and last three innings of postseason games on radio.
