SPENCER HUGHES has resigned from middays at CUMULUS News-Talk KSFO-A/SAN FRANCISCO, the veteran host told listeners on his Facebook page and blog.
At the blog, HUGHES declined to take shots at the station, saying only that "I am at peace with my departure from KSFO. It was the home of my talk radio debut back on December 31, 1994. I worked and befriended some of the biggest legends in the business. This NEW YEAR’S EVE would have been my 20th Anniversary hosting THE SPENCER HUGHES SHOW and I had always envisioned it would be behind the mic of the station that gave birth to my vision and dream 20 years ago. But life doesn’t always turn out the way we expect it to or hope it will. And that’s ok. It is ALL ok. The only certainty in life is…CHANGE.... My family and I are very much at peace with what is happening and I can tell you that THE SPENCER HUGHES SHOW will return, bigger and better than ever."
KSFO has not announced a replacement. Sister News-Talk WMAL-A-F/WASHINGTON host LARRY O'CONNOR is filling in TODAY (9/4).
