Beginning MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 8th, MITCH MICHAELS will shift to Afternoon Drive on DIGITY Classic Rock WERV (95.9 THE RIVER)/AURORA, IL. MICHAELS has been with THE RIVER since SEPTEMBER 2011.
MICHAELS' resume looks like a list of the top rock stations in CHICAGO over the last 40 years including WXRT, WKQX, WLUP, WCKG and WLS-A/F. "For me, it's such a treat to come in every day and play the music that I love. Between all the great folks I've met and talked to over the past 40 plus years and all my pals like CLAPTON, JIMI, JANIS, JOURNEY and all the rest it's like havin' a big party with a bunch of old friends. Happy to be back 'Doin' The Cruise' 3-7 on THE RIVER," he said.
MICHAELS' time slot change makes way for BETH REYNOLDS to take over the Midday spot which includes the all request Rock N Roll Diner each weekday in the noon hour. REYNOLDS was hired as the Evening Host in JUNE 2014. “I am thrilled to be a part of Team 95.9 THE RIVER, I love it! Seriously, the only way to get through the work day is to Rock and Roll through it. We have the perfect soundtrack to their everyday,” says Beth.
Interim PD DANIELLE TUFANO said, “These on air adjustments were a no brainer. THE RIVER is extremely lucky to have such an experienced and professional on-air staff and, now that we have a solid full time on-air staff in place, I am really looking forward to the great things that we have in store for a's future!”
