SANTA MONICA COLLEGE noncommercial Triple A KCRW/SANTA BARBARA's mostly-simulcast KDRW/SANTA BARBARA is now airing local SANTA BARBARA editions of NPR's "MORNING EDITION" and "ALL THINGS CONSIDERED."
The simulcast launched AUGUST 28th on what was previously Classical KQSC (a simulcast of USC Classical KUSC/LOS ANGELES, now airing on USC's crosstown KDB) (NET NEWS 8/29).
At the same time, KCRW's old translator, K295AH/GOLETA-SANTA BARBARA at 106.9 FM, is now airing the "ECLECTIC24" music stream found online and on KCRW's HD2 channel. The KCRW FOUNDATION has added DR. VICTORIA RISKIN and SCOTT BRITTINGHAM, both SANTA BARBARA residents, to its board.
“Since announcing our interest to increase KCRW’s presence in SANTA BARBARA, we have been met with the warmest welcome by area listeners, arts and culture institutions, philanthropists, and the business community,” said JENNIFER FERRO, KCRW President and GM. “We look forward to working closely with VICTORIA and SCOTT, the SANTA BARBARA FOUNDATION, and other trusted partners, as we expand our coverage of SANTA BARBARA public affairs, culture and arts.”
