NORTHEAST BROADCASTING Triple A WNCS/BURLINGTON has announced the expansion of its “THE POINT” NETWORK to include 93.7 FM WIFY ADDISON/MIDDLEBURY, VT.
PD ZEB NORRIS said, “We couldn’t be more excited by the expansion of our network! With the addition of this 21,000-watt Class C3 signal, “THE POINT” can now be heard in parts of the BURLINGTON/PLATTSBURG metro we didn’t reach before, including the gorgeous and economically vibrant college town of MIDDLEBURY. We know people in this area have an appetite for our award-winning Adult Album Alternative programming and we’re thrilled to be able to serve them.”
WNCS signed on in 1977 as a single station in MONTPELIER, VT. Later the station changed frequencies and moved their transmitter to RIKER MOUNTAIN, adding VERMONT’s largest city, BURLINGTON, to their coverage area. Over the years additional full frequencies WDOT DANVILLE/SAINT JOHNSBURY and WRJT ROYALTON/WHITE RIVER JUNCTION/LEBANON/HANOVER -- plus 3 translators -- were added to create a network serving NORTHERN VERMONT along with parts of NEW YORK and NEW HAMPSHIRE. With the addition of 93.7 WIFY THE POINT’s network now includes seven frequencies. The station also streams hi bit-rate audio from their website at www.pointfm.com.
