After a lengthy search, JOURNAL BROADCAST GROUP Country WCYQ (Q100.3)/KNOXVILLE has named KEVIN KING as PD. KING replaces MIKE HAMMOND at the helm of 'CYQ after HAMMOND retired from radio to pursue political aspirations (NET NEWS 05/29).
KING leaves his post as OM at ADX COMMUNICATIONS WYCT (CAT COUNTRY/98.7)/PENSACOLA to accept the position. His first day in the new position will be MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 15th.
"We are excited to welcome KEVIN to the JOURNAL family of talented programming specialists," stated JOURNAL OM RICH BAILEY. "He is a strategic programmer who understands our mission, is passionate about the format, and fits the JOURNAL culture."
Previous stops for KING include time at CUMULUS Country WSM-F/NASHVILLE, CUMULUS Rock WXZZ/LEXINGTON and sister station Country WLXX, as well as a stop at WYGY/CINCINNATI. There has been no word yet from WYCT regarding KING's successor.
Congratulate KING here.
