The saga of GRAND SLAM SPORTS' embattled ST. LOUIS AM stations continues with the RIVERFRONT TIMES reporting that Talk KXFN-A (1380 THE X, XTREME TALK RADIO) remains off the air due to what Station Manager MIKE CALVIN termed "old bills and repairs" on the station's towers.
The station is streaming on the Internet, although host DARRYN YATES has exited, but its terrestrial signal on 1380 AM has been off the air for three weeks. Sister Sports KFNS-A (590 THE MAN) remains on the air.
The stations have been the subject of much controversy in recent years, including a fistfight between host BRIAN MCKENNA and then-President DAN MARSHALL that made local headlines and TRIAD BANK claiming a default on over $1.1 million of loans.
