Former MEDIA-COM News-Talk WNIR/AKRON host MAGGIE FULLER has filed suit against the station and owners BILL KLAUS and BOB KLAUS alleging sexual harassment, reports the AKRON BEACON JOURNAL.
FULLER, under her real name NANCY JONES, filed suit in SUMMIT COUNTY Common Pleas Court alleging that the station failed to discipline host JOHN "COUCHBURNER" DENNING, who allegedly called her a "crude anatomical reference" (the "C-word") in conversations with fans at a public event at a restaurant on AUGUST 29th, 2013.
FULLER, who alleges that after she complained, the KLAUSES said DENNING denied the incident and no further investigation was made, left the station after the incident. A complaint by FULLER to the OHIO Unemployment Compensation Review Commission determined that FULLER had just cause to resign and supported her claim that the management had failed to address the situation "in a meaningful manner."
FULLER is seeking reinstatement and compensation for lost wages ($38,000/year in income) or lost income and future earnings, plus $50,000 in compensatory and punitive damages.
