FCC Chairman TOM WHEELER told the House Committee on Small Business that the Commission has "taken actions over the past year that could have a positive impact for small business entities."
He cited clarification of foreign ownership and investment rules, the quadrennial ownership rules review and the caps on ownership concentration as examples of what the Commission is doing that might help small entities, but warned that "we have to enforce our existing rules and close loopholes where necessary to ensure there’s a level playing field for all – including small business entities," pointing to the tightened restrictions on television joint sales agreements as an example.
WHEELER also told the panel that "process reform has been a priority since Day One of my Chairmanship," including revisions to the regulatory fee structure, and touted the Open Internet proceeding as another example of the Commission looking to help small business.
