CLEAR CHANNEL Top 40 WHTZ (Z100)/NEW YORK has tapped sister Top 40 KHKS (106.1 KISS-FM)/DALLAS afternooner J.J. KINCAID as its new afternoon star, beginning on TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 12th. KINCAID takes over for the legendary PAUL "CUBBY" BRYANT who segued to co-host mornings with WHOOPI GOLDBERG at sister WKTU and other syndicated stations.
Z100 PD SHARON DASTUR stated: "We're so excited to have JJ join the Z100 team. He's got an incredible passion for music, and a great ability to connect with his audience. We couldn't be more thrilled to add his unique style and energy to afternoon drive in NEW YORK CITY."
Z100 OM and SVPP TOM POLEMAN added, "JJ is one of the best jocks in America when it comes to relating to women on air -- a key part of Z100’s strategy. That, paired with his phenomenal ratings performance in DALLAS, is a key reason why we recruited him. He’s going to be an outstanding addition to the Z100 team."
KINCAID said, "This is dream come true for me. While it’s tough to leave all the great people at KISS in DALLAS, it is an honor to work at Z100. I can’t wait to get started! And, I gotta thank DAVY CROCKETT, ROB MORRIS, RICH DAVIS (NASHVILLE), JASON KIDD, PATRICK DAVIS, MIKE KLEIN, JAKE REDMAN (who is very talented and still needs a gig!) and of course SHARON and TOM at Z100! This is a dream come true!!!!"
