DAVIS BROADCASTING Urban AC WKZJ (K92.7)/COLUMBUS, GA MD BRANDON CONNER is being held without bond, suspected of murdering his girlfriend and their six-year-old son on AUGUST 21st.
The COLUMBUS LEDGER-ENQUIRER reports that CONNER was denied bond by MUSCOGEE COUNTY Superior Court Judge WILLIAM RUMER, who ordered CONNER to wait 120 days before requesting another bond hearing. CONNER's attorney argued that he was not a flight risk and should be released to care for his twin children, but the prosecution said that the charges made CONNER more of a flight risk and that arson charges will be added.
CONNER denies involvement in the murders.
CONNER faces two counts of murder and one count of possession of a knife during a crime for the murders of ROSELLA MITCHELL and son DYLAN CONNER, whose bodies were found in the burned remains of their home. Police say CONNER was found an hour after the bodies were removed from the house; he was allegedly sitting in his car for about 10 minutes at an intersection, wearing bloody clothes, and told police at the time that he was returning from work. More bloody clothes and a large serrated knife were found in his car. He was released after being charged with traffic offenses but then turned himself in on AUGUST 26th after warrants were issued for his arrest.
