The Palace Is Latest Addition To Memphis' Historic Beale Street

MEMPHIS is about to get a new, state-of-the-art concert venue. THE PALACE, a new multi-entertainment concept currently under construction on the city's historic BEALE STREET, is slated to open in FEBRUARY 20015.
The project is the latest from international nightlife developer STEVE ADELMAN. Starting this month, the existing location for THE PALACE will begin a complete transformation to create a unique concert venue, nightclub, and special events facility. ADELMAN and managing partner J.W. GIBISON, has brought on a team of top architects, visual artists, along with theatrical lighting and audio design pioneers,
"In the live music business you're either one step ahead, or two steps behind," says ADELMAN. "Today's touring acts, be it bands or DJs, demand the latest technology for the maximum event experience. In talks with potential concert partners, we are committed to make THE PALACE state of the art in every way, making it a showcase for MEMPHIS, and carrying on the tradition of it being AMERICA's great music destination."
THE PALACE's exterior and interior design is being headed up by the award- winning MEMPHIS architectural firm ARCHIMANIA. This new environment will have the flexibility to house concerts for a local, regional, and nationally known touring artists, a disco, as well as high-end corporate events for an anticipated 1800 people.
ARCHIMANIS principal BARRY YOAKUM commented: "We're very excited to be working with STEVE not only to raise the bar for venue design nationally, but ushering in an exciting new era of entertainment for both downtown MEMPHIS and BEALE STREET. "
Recognized companies like SJ LIGHTING's STEVE LIBERMAN and national design firm SOUND INVESTMENT will provide the visual and audio components of the venue. The sound will implement FUNKTION-ONE's latest speaker system designed for live performance of bands and DJs.
In charge of THE PALACE brand will be renowned NEW YORK CITY Creative Dir. GREGORY HORNS, who has developed the identities and advertising for many of the major U.S. nightlife venues of the past 25 years including AVALON, LOTUS, MARQUEE and TAO. His agency WINK creates promotional campaigns for VITAMIN WATER, HENNESSY, BULGARI and other luxury brands.
Added ADELMAN, "The creative direction of THE PALACE has far-reaching implications given MEMPHIS' music history. The goal is to carry that history forward in creative and innovative ways."
