Pandora Offers Listeners 'Thumb Gifts'

PANDORA is about to launch an online-only campaign spotlighting ‘Thumb gift’ contesting, which will offer surprises such as exclusive prizes and musicians interacting with PANDORA users, the NEW YORK TIMES reports. The campaign can be seen on BUZZFEED, FACEBOOK and TWITTER.
In one example, violinist LINDSEY STIRLING, who performs electronica and dance music, sent a recorded message to users who "thumbed-up" her that thanked them for doing so and invited them to an exclusive video chat. Future participating musicians have not been identified, but hitting thumbs-up for them could result in listeners receiving a signed guitar or a signed guitar strap.
“We wanted to create an approach that was both innovative and thought provoking, but that also demonstrated the power of this personalization to create magic moments for our listeners,” PANDORA Chief Marketing Officer SIMON FLEMING-WOOD said. “So this is sort of an extreme example of the delight that PANDORA creates for 25 million-plus people every day.”
