Spanish Up More Than 1 Share in Spring '06 Format Trends Report

Spanish language stations gained the most in the ARBITRON format trends report for the SPRING '06 radio survey in the 97 continuously measured markets. The overall Spanish format share increased 1.3 shares to 11.1 12+, compared to 9.8 in SPRING '05. Adult Hits was up 0.6 to 2.6, compared to 2.0 one year ago.
The top 5 12+ format shares in SPRING '06 are: News/Talk (17.3), AC (12.9), Contemporary Hits (11.3), Spanish (11.1), and Urban (10.1).
Rock (-1.0), Alternative (-0.5), AC (-0.5), and Oldies (-0.4) saw the biggest year-to-year downward shifts.
