Former RENDA BROADCASTING/JOHNSTOWN, PA Business Manager RENEE POLIPPO is suing RENDA for violations of the Family and Medical Leave Act and the Americans with Disabilities Act.
POLIPPO's suit in U.S. District Court for the Western District of PENNSYLVANIA alleges that she was fired in DECEMBER 2013 after the company failed to accommodate her disabilities, which she listed as "including but not limited to major depressive disorder, bipolar disorder, anxiety, and other cognitive disabilities" which "limit her from enjoying several major life activities including but not limited to -- at times -- working, concentrating, communicating, and other activities."
Specifically, she alleges that she went into the hospital for two weeks due to her condition in JULY 2013 and when she came back, her "job duties were significantly reduced" and assigned to others. She was terminated in DECEMBER and told that it was due to a reduction in force, but heard her position advertised on the radio soon afterwards, and now alleges that she was fired in violation of the ADA due to her health conditions and in retaliation for requesting time off under the FMLA.
