The price for the sale by GREAT SCOTT BROADCASTING of Classic Rock WGBG (BIG CLASSIC ROCK 98.5) and Adult Hits WJWK-A (SUE AM 1280)/SEAFORD, DE; Spanish Variety WJWL-A (MAXIMA 900) and Active Rock WZBH (93.5 THE BEACH)/GEORGETOWN, DE; Country WKHI (HOT COUNTRY 107.7)/FRUITLAND, MD; and Top 40/Rhythmic WOCQ (OC104)/BERLIN, MD, plus translators Contemporary Christian W242AV (REACH FM, rebroadcasting WXHL/CHRISTIANA-WILMINGTON, DE)/SEAFORD, DE and Spanish Variety W262BF (simulcast of WJWL-A)/GEORGETOWN, DE to ADAMS RADIO OF DELMARVA PENINSULA, LLC is $3.15 million. The price was previously undisclosed but appears in the contract filed with the FCC.
In another filing with the FCC, NORTHEAST GOSPEL BROADCASTING INC. is selling W279AL/CATSKILL, NY to DELAWARE COUNTY SOUNDS OF LIFE for $10,000. The seller has filed for a Silent STA for the station while an application pends for reconfiguration of the antenna on the tower.
The FCC has also approved the sale of TALLGRASS BROADCASTING, of Rock KICA-F (K98)/FARWELL, TX and Top 40/Rhythmic KKYC (THE BEAT 102.3) and Oldies KICA-A (ROCKET 980)/CLOVIS, NM to TEJAS BROADCASTING LTD, LLP and the stations' license renewal, over the objections of ZIA BROADCASTING CO., whose filing was rejected as procedurally defective but was treated as an informal objection. ZIA alleged violations of the public file and EAS rules, misrepresentations to the FCC, irregular and non-compliant operation of the stations since they returned to the air in early 2013, failure to serve the communities of license, and unauthorized early transfer of control. The Commission rejected most of ZIA's claims as unsupported by evidence but admonished TALLGRASS for a public file violation while the stations were silent.
