WEEI/Boston Raises $2.8M For Sox Cancer Charity

ENTERCOM Sports WEEI-A/BOSTON and NEW ENGLAND SPORTS NETWORK's JIMMY FUND radiothon/telethon this weekend raised over $2.8 million for the DANA-FARBER CANCER INSTITUTE. The total exceeded 2005's $2.3 million tote, pushed past that level by a donation from DONALD TRUMP.
Also participating in the fundraiser for the RED SOX' primary charity by appearances and/or donations were noted SOX fans BEN AFFLECK and the FARRELLY BROTHERS, actor JON CRYER, singer/actor BILLY RAY CYRUS, SOX owner JOHN HENRY, and even YANKEES owner GEORGE STEINBRENNER as well as Sens. EDWARD KENNEDY (D-MA) and JOHN KERRY (D-MA) and Gov. MITT ROMNEY.
