SONY MUSIC's RED DISTRIBUTION launches "TEN BANDS ONE CAUSE," a new retail initiative in support of NATIONAL BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH in OCTOBER. Ten bands have joined forces to reissue ten titles today on pink vinyl for the cause, which is sponsoring GILDA'S CLUB NYC, started in 1995 in the name of the late GILDA RADNER to provide support and education to cancer patients and their families.
Limited edition copies of pink vinyl from AGAINST ME!, COURTNEY BARNETT, IN THIS MOMENT, JASON ISBELL, KELLIE PICKLER, LUCIUS, ME FIRST & THE GIMME GIMMES, NOTHING, ST. PAUL & THE BROKEN BONES and TEMPLES are now available at retailers nationwide, with $1 for every unit shipped to sponsor GILDA'S CLUB NTC.
'STACHE MEDIA, a full-service marketing agency specializing in music to support RED releases and artists, partnered with HARD CANDY and SPOTIFY to create a playlist in support of TEN BANDS ONE CAUSE. The iconic cosmetics brand HARD CANDY is donating $1 to GILDA'S CLUB NYC for every follower of the playlist up to $1,000.
"Breast cancer is something that can be cured when caught and treated early, and awareness is a big part of early diagnosis. I like the idea of the pink vinyl campaign because I can support this cause, and help spread awareness," said AGAINST ME!'s LAURA JANE GRACE.
"I love this idea. I'm in favor of anything that raises funds for or awareness of this issue. Plus, it makes me feel like one of those cool ballplayers with the pink bats," added JASON ISBELL.
