Apple To Announce Updated iPad At October 16th Event

APPLE will announce the latest iteration of its iPAD at its next product showcase on OCTOBER 16th, according to several news reports, including RE/CODE's JOHN PACZKOWSKI.

The site also reported that APPLE may update bothits iMAC and OS X Yosemite at the same gathering. 9TO5MAC's MARK GURMAN earlier reported that the new iMACS were likely to have APPLE's retina display. Most observers beleive no radical changes will be announced to the iPAD design, though it is rumored to be adding a Touch ID fingerprint sensor and a new A8 processor.

APPLE is expected to unveil its new iPAD Air and may also tease a 12.9-inch iPAD, expected to be available in the middle of next year.

Unlike last month's iPHONE introduction, invitations have not been sent out to the press.
