WBLS/WLIB/Hot 97's Circle Of Sisters Event Draw Huge Crowds

EMMIS COMMUNICATIONS NEW YORK Urban AC WBLS (107.5), Inspiration WLIB (1190 A), and Rhythmic WQHT (HOT 97) held the 10th Anniversary of the CIRCLE OF SISTERS this past weekend and drew an estimated crowd of 50,000-plus. The event was presented in association with AARP, AT& T and DELLA RUSSO at the JAVITS CENTER in NY.
VP/GM DEON LEVINGSTON said, "The 10th Anniversary of CIRCLE OF SISTERS was phenomenal. The high turnout was incredible and a testament to the impact WBLS, WLIB, and HOT 97 have on our community. The EXPO is unique in its approach as there are main stage panels that challenge our communities to push themselves and grow. While celebrities draw people in, we are allowed to teach and educate with our panels and we do that through a combination of industry experts and celebrities."
Attendees were treated to performances and or panels featuring FANTASIA, JENNIFER HUDSON, REV. AL SHARPTON, MARY MARY, cast members from BLOOD SWEAT AND HEELS, KENNY "BABYFACE" EDMONDS, TYRESE TAMAR BRAXTON, ROLAND MARTIN, FAITH EVANS, BISHOP HEZEKIAH WALKER, TV personality LALA ANTHONY, NIECY NASH & JAY TUCKER, MICHELLE WILLIAMS, JOHNNY GILL, BRAVO's Top Chef LISA FERNANDES, TAMELA & DAVID MANN, TINA CAMPBELL, actor LANCE GROSS, author ZANE, WE TV's clebrity stylist KIM KIMBLE, PROJECT RUNWAY's KORTO MOMOLU, actor TERRY CREWS, BOBBY BROWN, TANK, cast members of ORANGE IS THE NEW BLACK, and many other artists and celebrities.
WBLS/WLIB APD CYNTHIA SMITH said, "This year's CIRCLE of SISTERS was a great success. The singers, entertainers, reality stars, celebrity chefs, and experts in the fields of fitness, finance and health come because they want to connect with their fans. And our stations provide this connection because we are community driven and care. We are consistently amazed at the growth and need for our EXPO. Every OCTOBER this is where they come to catch up with old friends, make new ones, and chat about educating panels as well as juicy gossip amongst the stars."
