Some details about APPLE's plans for BEATS AUDIO are coming to light. COMPLEX.COM reports, "since buying BEATS AUDIO in MAY, APPLE is reportedly moving forward with plans to either shut down or re-work BEATS MUSIC, BEATS' own subscription-based streaming service. Ultimately, it seems as if APPLE is trying to incorporate whatever technology, resources, and people BEATS MUSIC had going for it into a new APPLE-branded streaming service."
APPLE has targeted the streaming market as its iTUNES download service continues to shrink, but getting a deal from the major labels remains a large hurdle. A favorable price from UNIVERSAL, SONY BMG, WARNER and EMI would give the company an opportunity to offer a lower price than its rivals, such as SPOTIFY, RHAPSODY, AMAZON and GOOGLE PLAY.
Multiple reports say APPLE wants to license music at a price that would allow them to place their subscription-based music streaming offering under the standard $10 per month price that SPOTIFY, RHAPSODY and even BEATS MUSIC currently charge.
